Saints Sign Five to reserve/futures contracts

The New Orleans Saints began the new year by signing their first few players to the seldom discussed “reserve/futures contract.” Four Saints players that finished the season on the team’s practice squad were re-signed: G Tim Duckworth, TE Buck Ortega, CB Anwar Phillips and DE Josh Savage.

While another young, promising prospect has joined the fold, and should be familiar to area football fans: former LSU star WR/KR Skyler Green.

Green should prove to be an asset
…but I still want to see the defensive players they go after

Greene has done nothing really since leaving school. I hope it was a small signing.

which part? about pierre? i would understand saying that about green, but not pierre being the starter cause he should be.

Apparently there is some sort of seldom used future/devlopmental contract system that the Saints pulled out and signed a few guys from the practice squad to; G Tim Duckworth, TE Buck Ortega, CB Anwar Phillips and DE Josh Savage.

But that's not all. Drum roll please...

The New Orleans Saints have signed KR/WR Skyler Green, formerly of the LSU Tigers.

Hopefully that helps fix the kick return situation, and possibly opens up more opportunities for Pierre Thomas at RB.
