Why is LSU

The only team that consistently defends the Superdome turf? What is it about playing at home that brings the worst play out of the Saints? Even with the Payton regime's positive changes, the team has a 7-9 record at home. There's no way that this team is going to go anywhere if it can't defend the Dome to the tune of 6 wins each season, minimum.

I like the idea wearing the whites at home. Give it that LSU feeling.

Shouldn't mix college players and nfl players. NFL players are on the job and college players are playing for pride, team, accolades and a future. Two very different mindsets.

I remember Haz thinking the same thing, the Saints wore white at home during most of 2000. The Saints home woes has been an issue for a long time now. I don't get it either. I say blow the top off the dome and let the Saints play outdoors. Opposing teams would not know what to do in 90 degree heat with 60 percent humidity. Now that would be a true home field advantage.

If only Benson had any sense like Jerry Jones, and put up some of his own money for a new stadium. I have always disliked the cowboys, and seeing this damn new stadium going up outside my window isnt making things any better.

But I love the ideal of having a retractible roof if the saints and state somehow got money for that kind of thing. Playing football outside in Louisiana is no joke....look at the record for the Jags for home games during the start of the season when its muggy down there.

When home field advantage is had for two years straight then you know we are making the step from a good team to an elite team. It takes more than one step though.

Plus bikini tops in the stands to tan? I am all for it. Thats why I like the cheap seats in baseball. It is a party.

Hell just get the LSU players to dress in Saints uniforms and play them as the Saints team and see if that would help.:)

Re: Why is LSU

We're 7-9 at home with Payton. I'm taking a wait and see approach and let another year play out before I draw any conclusions on that. We were competitive at home and outside a few dumb plays here and there, were a playoff calliber team. That's with a very very injury decimated team.

I've never liked the idea of playing on turf. 8 games a year at home and then at least 3 on the road (usually 4 or 5) played on turf, and seems like every year we're blowing knees and ankles out all over the field. I like the dome, (so does the NFL and NCAA). I just wish we could find a better surface to play on that would give us a chance to have a healthy team come week 14.

I don't think the home record is really reflective of Payton. I think its more reflective of the team we had this year. We were better than .500 at home last year.

Ooh, if that's true, I wonder how much it would cost me to get Ed Hochuli and his massive biceps?

Ohhhh...that's not what you meant....

Defending the home field will be a lot easier when they can defend the opposing offense.
