Back to the subject. We are going to have to get a backup RB and while I hate to give anything players away so early in a trade I think the saints may need to. Saints are obviously well stacked at WR so which teams need WR and have a good RB to trade. I am thinking kelly or gardner along with a RB for a legit quality back. Showcase these guys early in preseason and trade one because if either one of these WR go on practice squad we will loose them. |

backup RB
If we are able to trade away a player or two that we otherwise may have to cut that would be a plus whether it is for a backup running back or for future consideration. Gardner is probably a final cutdown casualty that we will attempt to sign to the practice squad. However, if he can show some flash in the pre, we may be able to get something for him. He probably will be claimed off of waivers, but if not, would at some point get signed by another team off of our practice squad. Even if we only get our spent 7th round pick back it would be better than nothing.
