We should make a move on Randall Gay.
We should make a move on Randall Gay.
Louisiana born, went to LSU, and has regularly featured in the Pats defense since. He is only 25, earned last night's start over Ellis Hobbs, and is still on the tender he signed as an UDFA. If the Pats have any sense they will keep Gay, let Asante walk and draft a CB, but Belichek may want to retain as many starters as possible, and Gay was Hobb's backup until the end of the season. He impressed me a lot more than Samuel last night and would come a lot cheaper. Drayton Florence is a great athlete too, and I wouldn't mind him either. |

He would certainly be welcome to compete. I would say yes to him. There is no guarantee that he would be an instant improvement, but I would like his chances.

Hmm...I thought he looked a little soft at the beginning but he finally turned it on during the fourth quarter. I noticed that when Garrard threw, he threw to Gay's side of the field pretty often.
I dunno...I haven't seen him play that much, but last night left me cold. |

LSU bias aside, I believe Gay is a system cornerback. Much in the same way Jason David was a good corner in the Tampa 2, Gay somewhat 'flourishes' in New Englands schemes.
Put him in our heavy man coverage, and you'll be sorry. |

That's one jersey I would not be buying. Not that there's anything wrong with that. ; )

Why wasn't Will Smith productive this season?
When I saw him in Jackson during the summer, he looked 20 pounds over-weight. Anybody else notice that? |
