this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I wasn't happy with Jamie performance in the pre-season and he's a vet. I'll take a no name if we are 'sunk'. At least there is upside and the possibility of groom a QB for the future....

I don't know what to do about the back-up situation. Do we need a proven guy???? Well, yes, of course we do. Martin needs to retire. I really don't want to see us draft another QB. Palko just needs to be groomed, as Euph stated. We just need help at alot of positions. But does the team have the money to spend?

Take a look at the "Backup" Quarterbacks we have let go in the past. They have gone on to lead some pretty good teams and comeback and beat us at the same time! Palko could be the diamond in the rough we're looking for just in case Brees goes down.
