Changes on the way!

The Saints may also be in the market for hiring a couple more assistant coaches as the team may make some changes in the near future. Payton wasn't ready to comment on any specific changes that could be in store Orgeron interested in joining Saints

He's never even coached in the NFL before. Has he?

Re: Saints coaching moves!

Player Bio: Ed Orgeron :: Football

It doesn't appear he has any previous NFL experience.

Re: Saints coaching moves!

I don't think this would be a bad move at all for the Saints. I am assuming this would be as a defensive line coach, and the Saints really need some new ideas. The d-line did not have a particularly good year in 07.

Re: Saints coaching moves!

Lets see where he ends up. I am not that concerned about the signing. Everyone is a rookie sometime or another in there life.

Ed Orgeron, regarded as one of college football's premier defensive line coaches, has been USC's defensive line coach the past 6 seasons (1998-2003). He took on the added responsibility of recruiting coordinator in 2001. He was named assistant head coach in 2003. He joined the USC staff in January of 1998.

That alone is good enough to give him a shot. He knows the defensive players in the draft.

I really don't know how this will be a good move, much less a "Great" move. I don't know if any of you watched an Ole Miss game the past couple of years, but his defenses was never that good.

Why God, oh why do the Saints settle for mediocrity!!!!!!!

But this is Ole Miss we're talking about...

Orgeron signed = Ellis drafted.
