Re: Dallas shopping Spears and Carpenter
Id be all for Carpenter for a late second day pick. He and a first or second round LB this year, might really shore up our LB corp. At the very least theyd be a young group. At the very least Carpenter will help out on special teams.

Re: Dallas shopping Spears and Carpenter
All depends on the asking price. It would be nice to have both of these guys. Spears could be a solid backup, and Carpenter would compete for a starting spot, and like WVSaint said at least a special teams guy.

Re: Dallas shopping Spears and Carpenter
If Carpenter can live up to his potential in the 4-3 he'd be a great pickup. Spears might be a decent backup with something left to prove. The ammo to trade for both or maybe even one would probably not be worth the risk. I'd swap a fourth rounder for Carpenter and a provisional 7th for Spears and that's without thinking about picking up contracts.

The Cowboys need WR's.
Maybe we could trade them one. |

Re: Dallas shopping Spears and Carpenter
Carpenter hasn't asked Cowboys for trade
Jimmy Sexton, the agent for Cowboys linebacker Bobby Carpenter, said he has not requested a trade for the former No. 1 draft pick. Carpenter was primarily a special teams player this season and might be better suited for a 4-3 scheme. Carpenter had limited action on defense, which stemmed from coach Wade Phillips not being pleased with his play in preseason. -- Fort Worth Star-Telegram FOX Sports on MSN - Rumors - Ben Maller's NFL rumors |
