trade for shockey?
This is pure speculation but the New York sports station buzz is that the Giants are playing so much better in part to Shockey being hurt which allows Eli to be more of a leader without distractions. There has even been talk of trading him in the off-season. What would we give up for him and would we want him?...thoughts?

Re: trade for shockey?
He is a great talent, but drops way too many passes. And he is a pain in the butt to deal with. My answer would be no on him.

Re: trade for shockey?
I liked Shockey when he first came into the NFL, but as time as gone by he has shown to be nothing but a spoiled brat. No way do we want him? I wouldn't say that. There was another player that was the same way and has turned his career around by the name of Randy Moss.
Moss just needed to get humbled a bit. The same may need to happen to Shockey, and if the Giants win the SB without him......well, just read Papz's signature block. |

Didn't he tear an ACL???
Sorry, we are already paying Deuce too much. Shockey will return to the Giants a better man. Just watch. |

Re: trade for shockey?
Why should they even consider a tight end? Am I the only one that thinks that the Saints TE position is okay?
Campbell played well as a blocker in 2006 and I think that he'll really help the run game next year. Eric Johnson, should they bring him back, is a blocker/receiver and though he dropped some key passes this last season he has shown in the past that he he is a reliable option in the passing game. If the Saints bring him back next year I think that he'll play much better. Billy Miller has played well as a backup. I have absolutely no idea about Ronnie Ghent and Buck Ortega. I do admit that injuries to the top two guys concerns me a little but I just don't see that TE is a big need for the team. And on Shockey, I don't consider it coincidence that Eli has played much better without him in the lineup. |
