Give me your pick
Who do you think will be the Saints 2008 #1 draft pick? Not who you think we should pick!

Re: Give me your pick
WR Mario Manningham from Michigan.

Re: Give me your pick
Connor. I belive we will get a CB in FA and a DT in the 2nd round.

Re: Give me your pick
Crusader, what's going on? Haven't heard from you in a while. Any sunshine recently in Sweden?
I would love to see us get a CB in free agency and a DT in the second round, but I just don't know if Payton is as committed to defense as he needs to be. And if we were going to get a corner in FA, and take a LB/DT with our first two picks, I'd rather see us go with Sedrick Ellis first because he has true top 10 potential. I don't think Connor's ceiling is very high, but Ellis can be an absolute stud in this league. Also, if we take Ellis at #10, we could take advantage of the LB class being deeper this year than the DTs. So what I'm saying is that if we reverse the order, we get better value of each pick. I'm thinking Ellis in the first, and then a linebacker (Xavier Adibi, Erin Henderson, Phillip Wheeler, Jerrod Meyo). |
Re: Give me your pick
Talib, Moore in the 2nd and Bell in the 3rd.

The only real needs we have on offence is a stud TE, Eric Johnson wass a dissapointment I thought. However I don't se any TE worth drafting in the first riund, atleast not that high, no Vernon Davises this year. OL is a good passblocking unit but lacks someone like Turley or Bentley that hates the opponent and loves to runblock. Thats missing but I do believe we might have that on the bench already. I think Sean Payton knows all this and therefor I think we'll see us go after D in the draft, not all rounds but atleast 4 and 3 times in the first 4. A DT in the first round might be wise but I'm a little scared since the drafting of lard-boy Sullivan. |
Re: Give me your pick
Kenny Phillips
I hope we get Briggs in Free Agency |
Re: Give me your pick
I hate to say it but Best Player on the Board. I hope is Ellis or Conner. I think we will sign a CB in FA. My two cents

Re: Give me your pick
The senior bowl did not clear the picture as much I was hoping for.
But I am finally sold on Ellis. He is not my choice but I am sold on him |
Re: Give me your pick
Need to sign a decent corner in FA and draft a DT in the first. No doubt our corners and linebackers are far from stellar. Our ends were doubled all year due to poor pressure at DT. You create a pass rush with some run stopping capabilities and a mediocre group of corners and linebackers will be more than productive. We have already commited to a top 5 offense so with money tied up in that dont expect to much as far as the defense goes. Top 15 defense will do it with our offense.

Re: Give me your pick
or CB Leodis McKelvin, Troy
BUZZ: McKelvin had a very strong week of practice. He is a top athlete with excellent quickness. His speed translates well to the field. He is a highly rated return specialist, and could really shine in a game where several players are not used to covering kicks. He has the talent to be a difference-maker every time he touches the ball, and he can recover quickly when playing corner. |
Re: Give me your pick
It would not surprise me if they got an OT, with the #10 pick. Remember, this is an offensive coach, and he wants to win or lose with offense. And the team might not think their CBs, LBs, and DLs are as bad as the fans think. Also they may fill out the holes, they think they have with FA signings.
