“Sean (Payton) is a winner and he has shown he is an excellent head football coach in the professional ranks. He is very intelligent and he knows what needs to be added to the club to get it to the next level. I want to thank general manager Mickey (Loomis) and Sean for giving me this chance and I have to also thank Curtis Johnson (the Saints wide receiver coach) and Cortez Kennedy, who I coached in college for recommending me to the Saints. I have a learning curve to make but I have worked under some good teachers in guys like Jimmy Johnson, Pete Carroll, and Dennis Erickson and spent a lot of time with Monte Kiffin and Rod Marinelli, so I am ready to get it going for the Saints. I just can’t wait to hit the practice field and get into the film sessions.” |
