Signs
I am not drawing any conclusions with what I am about to write, but I am feeling some concern.
I'm noticing that the Saints players are showing up in more negative press recently. Reggie linked seriously to a "woman-of-questionable-character"; Charles Grant involved (in some way) with his being stabbed and the death of a young woman by gunshot... What's next? Though this is a relatively small list, was it not heavily publicized how our team has been built from "character" guys? Is it not generally accepted that our personnel staff has made some of the decisions we've all questioned based upon "character"? It would have been unthinkable to hear these kinds of events involving our players two years ago. I remarked during this season that some of the stuff I saw happening on the sidelines made me feel that Payton had lost the respect of the players. I am becomming more and more concerned as time goes on.... |

Re: Signs
Police have also found no connection between Grant and a pregnant woman who was shot and killed during the fight. Grant sustained only minor injuries and should be ready for the Saints' offseason conditioning program.
Source: New Orleans Times-Picayune Grant was at the wrong place at the wrong time. I'm sure nothing like this will happen again regarding him. As for Bush, I think it's blown way out of proportion by the media and fans. Everyone has girlfriends, wives, etc... Bush is just being singled out because his girlfriend is somewhat of a celebrity. I don't think any that's happening with our players is a big concern. Compared to the Bengals... we're Saints. |

don't look for trouble unless something develops.young men are not choir boys.they will go out.it's a shame that the things happening in society are so negative.give new england the injuries that we had and they would not have made sb.

Re: Signs
Two players whose "behavior" you question out of a roster of nearly seventy players? I'm thinking those numbers aren't too bad.
Think of the Saints as a big family--there's always the brother who dates the skanky girl, the cousin who can't stay out of trouble with the law, the uncle with the drinking problem, the 50 year old aunt who dresses like she's 16...(where was I going with this??)...oh yeah... So maybe there's a little dysfunction. It's going to happen. It's the nature of the beast.
I think they're fundamentally a good group of guys. I believe a lot of them (from what I've read) are heavily involved with re-building NO and other charitible work. *Disclaimer: This post in no way supports or encourages the dating of any of the Kardashian girls by a member of the New Orleans Saints. |

Re: Signs
we have bigger names than what we have in the past also.....people will dig for trash on reggie for his entire career. i think as a whole we do a pretty good job of staying out of the news (bad news anyway)

Re: Signs
I wouldn't worry too much about the Saints players with character issues. I was just reading PFT and there are only two guys from the Saints on the turd list. Notice that neither one made the team:
3/19/07: Saints LB E.J. Kuale is arrested and charged with felony weapons possession and misdemeanor marijuana possession. 5/2/07: The New Orleans Saints sign defensive tackle Water Thomas despite a pending felony charge of conspiracy to commit robbery. |

Re: Signs
I am not 100 percent certain, but I think both were released very quickly.
