Lito Sheppard
Dont have a link but I heard the Eagles may be shopping him. What are you willing to give up? Me a 2nd rd pick.

Re: Lito Sheppard
he's free to make his own trade. hasn't played a full season in a while i think since 2003.
Again better then what we have. |
Re: Lito Sheppard
Very good player, but yes, cannot stay healthy. I am not sure I would want to give up a 2nd round pick for him, but it's probably a fair price and he is only 26. I would rather draft a group of defenders, and sign some older free agents who may have a season or two left in them. That could give the younger players a little more time to develop before having to be full time starters.

Re: Lito Sheppard
He's looking for a new contract. He's a really good corner but I'd target Trufant or Samuels first before I'd inquire about Sheppard. Why give up a draft pick if there's corners as good as or better than Sheppard while not having to give up a draft pick? Now if we lose out on both the top two corners, I'd offer a third round pick for him considering we'll have to re-work his deal.

Re: Lito Sheppard
Too much of a risk to put that kind of money into a player that may or may not give us a complete year. Trufant and Asante should be our CB FA targets right now. I think we would get more for our money.

Re: Lito Sheppard
FA is getting small.
TRUFANT GETS FRANCHISED With the deadline for applying the franchise tag less than 24 hours away, more and more teams are using it. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that the Seahawks have applied the franchise tag to cornerback Marcus Trufant. The placement of the tag on Trufant and Raiders cornerback Nnamdi Asomugha means that Pats cornerback Asante Samuel will be the biggest prize at the cornerback position when free agency opens on February 29. |
