Rudy / Tom Zibkowski
"Don't call me that again"
5' 11" 211 lbs. 225lbs - 24 reps (for being called Rudy) 40 yard - I didn't see it posted on nfl.com but it was low 4.5 (great time for a safety) LOL !!! First off let me say I love the fire in this kid. If you don't already know he's the Notre Dame safety who is famous for winning an undercard fight at Madison Square Garden. The dude is built like a tank, and his workouts were pretty impressive for a safety. Now to the story, when he was lifting that funny strength coach was spotting and on about the 8th rep he says "UP, UP, C'mon Rudy" Without hesitation and with 225 lbs. on his arms he replies in a very low tone stern voice "Don't ever call me that again" I'd love this kid !!! |

Re: Rudy / Tom Zibkowski
I just want that kind of fire on the team, we need someone like that on the defensive side of the ball. We havent had a player with any kind of fire since Turley and I miss him for that. Hell, even if he just punched a Falcon or two in the jaw and never did anything else it would be worth drafting him.

Re: Rudy / Tom Zibkowski
One bad game against LSU does not a career make, besides, everyone on that ND squad got embarrassed in that game. I don't think he'll be a superstar and he's definitely overhyped just because he's playing for Football Jesus. But I do think he'd make a good backup and special teams guy -- kind of reminds me of Gleason more than anything -- and if nothing else we can have him smack around the guys not pulling their weight.

...yeah.. great story... yawn...
... that the kid is famous for winning a boxing match while playing football at ND should give you a clue... Sure everyone wants a fiery guy on his team... but that 'fiery" guy very quickly becomes the 'annoying" guy when he's barking left and right and he can't ball. |

Re: Rudy / Tom Zibkowski
Everybody is talking about how he got torched against LSU. Everyone got torched by LSU, except when they choked of course. As for last year the entire team sucked except him and the DT. So you can't guage his ability from last year, see also Kentwan Balmer. The guy was very good throughout his 4 years at ND and he returned punts all 4 years. With his football smarts and toughness, not to mention his measurables I think we should take him in the third if availible.

Re: Rudy / Tom Zibkowski
3rd would be waaay to early in my opinion, i think we can still land a solid LB, CB or DT in the 3rd......even if we've already drafted at that position in the prior two rounds

I am not only referring to the LSU game...damn near every Notre Dame game is on TV and i have followed the Irish for a long time...eventhough i cant stand them. I am just not a fan of his...nor am i a fan of Steltz...Steltz was great at what he had to do in college but i do not see his game translating well into the NFL.
