Rudy / Tom Zibkowski
"Don't call me that again"
5' 11" 211 lbs. 225lbs - 24 reps (for being called Rudy) 40 yard - I didn't see it posted on nfl.com but it was low 4.5 (great time for a safety) LOL !!! First off let me say I love the fire in this kid. If you don't already know he's the Notre Dame safety who is famous for winning an undercard fight at Madison Square Garden. The dude is built like a tank, and his workouts were pretty impressive for a safety. Now to the story, when he was lifting that funny strength coach was spotting and on about the 8th rep he says "UP, UP, C'mon Rudy" Without hesitation and with 225 lbs. on his arms he replies in a very low tone stern voice "Don't ever call me that again" I'd love this kid !!! |

That's hardcore. He's also a Golden Gloves boxer, which alone should tell you how tough he is. Was also great as a returner and has a knack for being a ballhawking safety. Would love if he fell to us in the middle rounds.

He might be a boxer, and tough, but that doesn't mean he's a good football player. I would be wary of anybody who played on that ND team. I also specifically remember him getting torched by LSU

This kid is not going to be a difference maker. He is extremely overhyped and if he is drafted before the 5th round, then someone made a mistake. I dont care if he is a boxer, teams are looking for football players and was clearly out of his league when he played top level competition.

Re: Rudy / Tom Zibkowski
I just want that kind of fire on the team, we need someone like that on the defensive side of the ball. We havent had a player with any kind of fire since Turley and I miss him for that. Hell, even if he just punched a Falcon or two in the jaw and never did anything else it would be worth drafting him.

Re: Rudy / Tom Zibkowski
One bad game against LSU does not a career make, besides, everyone on that ND squad got embarrassed in that game. I don't think he'll be a superstar and he's definitely overhyped just because he's playing for Football Jesus. But I do think he'd make a good backup and special teams guy -- kind of reminds me of Gleason more than anything -- and if nothing else we can have him smack around the guys not pulling their weight.

Re: Rudy / Tom Zibkowski
...yeah.. great story... yawn...
... that the kid is famous for winning a boxing match while playing football at ND should give you a clue... Sure everyone wants a fiery guy on his team... but that 'fiery" guy very quickly becomes the 'annoying" guy when he's barking left and right and he can't ball. |

I like the attitude not the player.
