this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I just kinda walked in on it as the TV was on, but I thought I heard ESPN say that Jacksonville has stated that theyre willing to deal Marcus Stroud. Anyone else hear anything about that. If I remember correctly ...

Marcus Stroud

Re: Marcus Stroud
Easily one of the best DT's in the league... haven't heard they're shopping him though.

The Panthers released DT Kris Jenkins. I wonder if that's what you heard?

Re: Marcus Stroud
I got bored so I looked it up on the jags message board and they're all reporting the same thing, so apparently its true.

Re: Marcus Stroud
I have mixed feelings about this guy. its obvious that he is very talented and he is a monster in the middle, but he has already been suspended once and it has been reported that he isnt always into the game. How come the most talented DT's are always the one that piss the game away with a lack of effort?

Re: Marcus Stroud
I would love to see us go after Stroud, but I doubt that we would make an offer for him. He is a beast of a DT, and would be a drastic improvement in the middle for us. If we got him and Samuel, and then drafted a linebacker, I'd give our offseason an A+. Sadly, probably 1/3 of that will happen.

Re: Marcus Stroud
Stroud is definately on the block. NFL Live reported it a moment ago. Stroud is consistently great in the middle. My only concern is his ACL injury. It could hinder his lateral movements, in turn slowing down his ability to shake blockers. I think these types of injuries are the worst on defensive linemen, because of the constant pushes backwards. I'm not saying he's not worth a look, but I'm sure he'll go to another AFC team. Probably the Broncos. Just a hunch.
