Nah, we started at 30 mil. Now we're minus a few veteran re-signings, and Vilma. So we're probably somewhere in the mid to low 20's now.

Well, the last I heard, we were sitting at (a projection) of about 30 mil. I haven't found anything definite on the net to refute that, just projections. But the latest I saw was from the Ask the Commish site. It had us estimated, for Feb 1st, at roughly 35 mil. It may well be out of date. If someone has something more definite, please share.

Before that, the last article I'd read in the Times Picayune said we were projected to go in with about 25 or 30. I just did a quick Google on it and came up with this. - Salary cap not an issue for Saints- NOLA.com

So, if anyone has anything definite, add to this thread, even if it's posted somewhere else, because I haven't run across it.

I don't know what the issue with Simmons was, but he simply did not get playing time. In other words he could not beat out Shanle or Simoneau. Maybe some believe he wasn't given a fair chance, but who knows. Simmons has been in the league for a long time and maybe his play has really fell off.
