Yea but David, did you see how fast we are missing those tackles. Last year we just stumbled by people as they gained yards, this year we are flying as they score!

If I was Has. I\'d have every defender spending four hours a day for the next week doing nothing but practicing tackling drills -- ON TOP OF REGULAR PRACTICE!!!
They looked pitiful on so many missed tackles. |

No doubt about it, it was hard to watch. We were dominated in the trenches on both sides of the ball. Rodgers made the only good play on defense early. I really did\'nt see anyone winning indivual battles when I watched them. The tackling was without a doubt the biggest problem. I understand it is early and it will take time for the D to gel as a unit, but there is no excuse for that crap!

Are we playing this game??? Every pass hits a receiver, every hole gets wider!!! This is crazy, preseason is not that important, but this is a bad sign of what could come!

Can you say trade ? Keaton is not the answer ,his running is tentative he has speed but no toughness, when he needs a yard for the first he does\'nt get it, his hands are awful(a couple of droped passes and a fumble) and his blocking sucks, We need help and Fenderson may be better, but unless he has developed significantly from last year, he is\'nt the answer either.

I read an article somewhere last week where HAZ said something to the effect that they don\'t practice tackling because of the risk of injuries ... it shows. Is this something all the other teams live by also? How is it the saints have been such poor tacklers the last few years?
I am thinking this is a coaching defeciency somewhere. There is no reason to risk injring our offensive players for a defensive problem so make the defensive players go at each other and practice open field tackling. Make them do it everyday after the offense goes in. And I was laughing at the cowboys?! |
