He had a long time to recover, I say bring him in and see what he has left in the tank. I would not bad mouth this move.

Are you kidding? This would put to rest one of the biggest questions of the offseason. Will Deuce be ready?

You take him in a second and keep him. You cut Deuce in a flash, sorry Deuce just business. Our offense would be stupid scary with Bush and McFadden. Payton would crap on himself if that happened and couldn't resist keeping him.

I'd ponder a trade with Dallas, but I wouldn't do it. Still, I think Dallas will trade up for McFadden if he falls to 6.

I think he's be able to tackle Brees unabaited, but that's not what the Saints will be paying him for, so what's your point?

McFadden Anyone?

Let's face it, Deuce isn't going to be the same at his age coming back from 2 knee surgeries. At best he will be ready for mid season. So i predict our offense will be mediocre instead of dominating.

How much would you be willing to trade up? Consider this....
McFadden would make us the most feared offensive team in the league. Anybody that thinks a revamped defense is going to carry this team to the Superbowl is nuts. Offense is what drives the New Orleans Saints. By drafting McFadden we are assured of having one of the best offenses in the league if not the best. We would be stupid scary on one side of the field. Brees, Bush, Colston... would instantly be better by drafting McFadden. We could dictate to the defense again.

We have already upgrade our defense and I think we will continue to upgrade it in the draft. But you don't need a great defense... consider:

The Saints play a defense that is feast or famine. They try to make you have a bunch of 3 and outs or score quick with tight man to man coverage. This results in the Saints offense being on the field most of the time. This eventually wears a defense down in the 4th quarter or we simply over run teams who's offense can't score 20 points against our defense. Unfortunally, the weather is great equalizer as we found out in Chicago. Again, McFadden may be the key here to because without being able to run the football consistantly, you don't win in Chicago, Green Bay or New York.

I'm not suggesting that we mortgage the farm but if he falls to us or if we have to move up 1 to 2 spots to get him, it may pay the GREATEST DIVIDENDS by having the most dominate offense in the NFC again.

So the real question becomes... Would you like to have the best offense in the NFC or the number 12 defense in the league?

To be honest, I'd rather have a number 12 ranked D. PT had over 200 yds of total offense and we lost because we couldn't stop Kyle Orton. The 0-8 Rams beat us because we couldn't stop the 3rd and 17s and the offense couldn't get on the field. We are not that bad at RB. I like McFadden as much as the next guy, but the draft is deep with good rbs that can play, so if he falls then I would be willing to trade down, definately.

Re: McFadden at 10?

I don't see the need to invest more money into a position where we already have so much talent at. Trade up? No way no how. I think by re-signing Stecker almost insures we won't select a running back. And if for some strange reason we do decide to take a back, Mendenhall and Stewart could possibly be just as good as D-Mac. It doesn't make any sense to trade up unless there's a defensive player or offensive tackle that we highly covet.
