Which new player will have the biggest impact

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; LOE, i think we are in a good position to trade back but only if one of the big prospects falls... after the 5 ot 6 top guys, then i feel that the next 10 or 15 guys are around ...

LOE, i think we are in a good position to trade back but only if one of the big prospects falls... after the 5 ot 6 top guys, then i feel that the next 10 or 15 guys are around the same value area and that might not stir alot of interest from teams to trade up...

i dont see any corner really sticking out to be that superstar.. i know alot of people will say DRC but he hasnt played against provent talent...

there arent to many 1st round LB prospects and safety is a weak class with possibly no 1st rounders this year

WR is deep this year but with no real superstars, mostly 2nd option receivers

Oline? i can only name 2 guys who have even been mentioned to go in the top 10..

what im sayin is that i dont see many teams wanting to trade up to get a player who hasnt even been projected as being a top 10 pick...

Cross your fingers Pak, SOMEONE is going to fall, somebody always falls. I really think we're in good position.

Let's just hope that position isn't bending over holding our ankles.

Vilma is the this years' defensive version of Drew Brees when we picked him up at the time. The Saints must have some good inside medical information to be able to CONFIDENTLY pick up these guys who others leave for dead and then making superstars out of them.

Round 1Trading up
Chicago
Minnesota
Philli
Dallas
Now here is an interesting thing
San Diego trading down in the first or completely out of the first because they traded away their number 2 last year. Cap is not really that good for them either.
Now if we trade down with Minnesota or lower a second will be involved. That gives us two seconds and we could trade the two picks and move back into the lower part of the first. MAYBE just a thought the contract money would work out the same for the most part

As for talbit to FS I have to say it would be a good move because of his good, not great, speed and the fact he is a ball hawk. Now as for run defense his tackles are good and he has blitzed a lot. So it does not seem like a stretch for him.

Agree with this.

He will push our lazy DL to do better. I hope the new DL coach gets them in shape.

Orgeron is the man. I love what we are doing defensively this season.

Re: Which new player will have the biggest impact

VilmaJonathan Vilma, MLB, New Orleans Saints
If healthy, Vilma is exactly what the Saints need. He is ultra-competitive, tenacious and a natural leader on the field. He has great range and is a playmaker with some of the aggressive traits that have served his fellow Miami alums so well in the NFL. New Orleans did not have a defensive identity or a leader who made everyone accountable last season, but it does now with Vilma. The Saints would be wise to add another big body at defensive tackle to help protect the undersized middle linebacker, and it is still unclear how well the 25-year-old has recovered from a knee injury, but this is the type of move that can quickly turn around a defense. New Orleans has a good chance to win the NFC South next year, and Vilma is a major reason why. The Saints got better in a hurry on defense, and without pressing needs on offense they are in a position to further bolster that unit on draft day.
