Re: brunell signs with saints
I love it! I agree that he should be able to run the offense for a few games if Brees happens to go down. Palko could be the one to benefit most, this should greatly enhance his development.

Re: brunell signs with saints
Yeah I dont like the signing other than the benefit Palko might receive. Brunell is done, but hes a lefty and that can give Palko some pointers. I hope so anyway.

If that was the case why would we even have a back up QB on the roster at all.

Re: brunell signs with saints
he was horrible with the skins...some of my family is from DC and it was painful to watch him play for them. i guess as a backup he's fine though...i definitely don't want to rely on him.

I like this signing in theory. I will reserve full judgement until after camp and pre-season performances. Warmer and fuzzier though. Martin frightened me.

Re: brunell signs with saints
I like this signing considering what was out there. Brunell doesn't have much if anything left in the tank but he could roll out of bed and be better than Martin. Hopefully Brunell won't have to step in but if he does I think he's got just enough left to be decent caretaker for a few starts. He always had nice touch on the short to intermediate routes but his long balls are a horror show at this point in his career.
