Hall to the Raiders???
HALL COULD BE A RAIDER
Posted by Michael David Smith on March 15, 2008, 5:54 p.m. Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that a trade that would send cornerback DeAngelo Hall from the Falcons to the Raiders could take place within the next week. Per Schefter, Hall was in Oakland on Friday, where he took a physical and met with Raiders owner Al Davis, head coach Lane Kiffin and defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Although the trade appears to be a distinct possibility, the teams haven’t agreed on what the Raiders would have to give the Falcons to acquire Hall. The Raiders also haven’t reached an agreement on a new contract for Hall, which would likely have to happen before a trade is completed. Hall is believed to want a deal that would make him among the highest-paid cornerbacks in the NFL, and while that may be a case of Hall overestimating his value, the Raiders have shown a willingness to spend big money on veteran players this off-season. Defensive tackle Tommy Kelly, wide receiver Javon Walker and safety Gibril Wilson all got more money from the Raiders than most NFL observers thought they could command. As for the compensation the Raiders would need to send to the Falcons, Schefter reports that the Falcons would likely demand at least the Raiders’ second-round draft pick. If such a trade were to take place, the Falcons would have three picks in the second round: Their own, the Raiders’, and the Texans’ from last year’s Matt Schaub trade. ProFootballTalk.com - Rumor Mill Though he probably wouldn't have been traded within the division, it is one less man-to-man corner opportunity most likely lost. |

Re: Hall to the Raiders???
The Raiders is the only team that will pay him what he wants, every other team will just pay him what he's worth.

Re: Hall to the Raiders???
The Atlanta Falcons have reached an agreement in principle with the Oakland Raiders to trade cornerback DeAngelo Hall for the Raiders' second-round pick in the 2008 draft, pending the Raiders finalizing a contract with Hall, according to a source close to the Falcons.
While a Raiders source said Hall and the team are nearing an agreement on a contract, the source close to Hall said there is "still a lot of work to get it done." The Raiders source said the deal is expected to pay Hall just below what Asante Samuel signed with the Eagles. Samuel signed a six-year deal worth a reported $57 million, with $20 million guaranteed. Hall is a former first-rounder taken with the eighth pick in the 2004 draft. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3295344 |

Re: Hall to the Raiders???
I am telling you, look for atlanta to trade up in the draft. They have the cap room and now they have the picks to play with. One of the two longs Long could be their target. Abraham has been a big bust in Atlanta. They also have enough seconds still to get a good QB in the draft. Remember. The bad thing is that the 2 picks in the second are ahead of us, if the deal gets done. CB is now one of the top targets in this years draft and they pick ahead of us in all the rounds.
Now with the money the raiders are throwing around and all the high priced #1s in the past couple of years they must have some cap problem to deal with. Maybe we will see Nnamdi Asomugha put on the trading block or at least endup as a FA next year, that the raiders wont tag. Either way this is bad news for the saints more than good news. |

Re: Hall to the Raiders???
the only way i could see them trading up, was if they had 1 prospect that was head n shoulders above the others and i dont see that in this draft... there are just too many good players at the top for 1 single player to be singled out as the top guy
