Re: The Truth About Reggie

I believe Bush is going to do great things this year. I've seen consistent improvement from his first year to his second. He was injured for several (I think four) of the games he played in and still managed to put together reasonably successful outting. Not stellar, but reasonable - doing that while injured. The statistics don't say much to support that, but that's what I saw.

He still has a lot to learn and some of that's been highlighted by some of the other posters. I especially agree that he needs to learn how to take a hit smarter than he does now. He takes a lot of risks when he hurdles guys. I've seen him pay for those, just as often as I've gasped in awe at seeing him do it successfully.

Last year the thing I questioned most was his "heart". On some plays, I would jump out of my seat after seeing him somehow squirt forward and extend the ball for a first down. Then on other plays, he'd head out of bounds while it seemed to me he still had plenty of room to make a move and gain those extra yards. I could never decide for certain, but as I've had time to think about it since then - I have to trust that Reggie Bush knows more about running the football than I do. Therefore, his judgement must carry more weight than mine.

I think it was a terrible setback that Reggie played so incredible in his first season. It seemed like it made him overconfident (I could say that about the entire team, and the coaching). His second season "felt" like a disappointment because of it, but it seems to me it has lent our team the humility and determination to do what it necessary to improve. For Reggie the best sign of this that I've seen is that this year Bush is showing up at the Saints' off-season program. Last year, he was off doing fre-flow-do (or whatever that was).

Yes, I believe he will do great things this year.

RB will become what Terry Metcalf was for Cardinals.

That's a good thing!

[QUOTE=Euphoria;158552]He never was a feature back and why should anyone just assume he will be. We got what we drafted a role player who can go in the game and try and make a difference at a particular position at a given time thats it. [QUOTE]

I understand what you are saying Euph but do you think Reggie and the coaches feel this way? or do you think they see Reggie as a replacement once Deuce is no longer with the team?
