I guess that makes two of us, winmill. I've been vacationing for the last two weeks and when I saw this I was pretty happy. One more need for the team taken care of and from a guy with with playoff experience. He is a bit aged but I think that this is a great pickup and would be serviceable should Brees go down.

Payton did say Brunell was not guaranteed #2 position, he and Palko will have to fight it out in camp. I do prefer Brunell over Martin but I still hope we never have to go there (well maybe in week 16 once we've already secured homefield adv. and 1st round bye )

You may make fun of Brunell if you want to, daddy-o. It doesn't bother me. I like him over Martin. Perhaps he's bad. Perhaps he's worse than bad. Perhaps he's left handed. Perhaps he's an experiened left hander, mentoring a younger left hander. Or perhaps we'll never have to play him at all. But you know what... if it ever came down to us playing Washington in the NFC playoff game, and we just happend to spank the Potomac Basin Indigenous Peoples by 21 points - it'd just hurt those Basin boys that much worse, oh the horror, if it was Brunell that was applying the spanking. So here's to seeing the Potomac Basin Indigenous Peoples getting thoroughly spanked by a toss-off. lol

Oh, the reverse "horror".....

We'll see.

can anyone help me id this tune? it goes thwap thwap boom tch boom tch boom tch.

As a full time starter I agree. But he can string together some pretty games. at the same time he can look. but I have seen him play alot too and have one thing to say in his defense. Washingtons' WRs have a history of been less than professional. Quiters is the first word that comes to mind.

Better than Martin. Hopefully Palko beats him out and is the 2nd, but probably not this year.

Re: April Fools Joke Early With Brunell Right!

I think that it's safe to say that most of us here want Palko to be the next great Payton project that turns out to be a good quarterback in the future (for the Saints of course). But if Palko needs a year or two, I'm fine with Brunell as a fill in number 2.

I do hope that Payton finds another player to add and drop though out the season because I believe that Palko can be the same kind of player that Romo has turned out to be. Although I believe that Romo is overrated, he is a good QB.
