Mock Draft Updated 3/23/08.......

CheramieIII's 2008 NFL Mock Draft

Updated 3/23/08

1st Round

Pick Team Position Player Name School Brief Description of the Pick
1 Miami DE Chris Long Virginia Need a lot of defense and Chris is a lot of DEFENSE!
2 St. Louis DT Glenn Dorsey LSU Hazlett trying to save his butt.
3 Atlanta QB Matt Ryan Boston College You know they need a QB and Matt would be a good fit anywhere.
4 Oakland DT Sedrick Ellis USC Replacement for Sapp.
5 Kansas City OT Jake Long Michigan Protection for the QB will do wonders.
6 NY Jets RB Darren McFadden Arkansas He's going to make them a lot better on offense immediately.
7 New England (from 49ers) CB Mike Jenkins USF With Samuel and Gay likely leave this will fill the void nicely.
8 Baltimore QB Brian Brohm Louisville Nuff said!
9 Cincinnati DE Vernon Gholston Ohio State 6'4", 260 lbs and a 4.58 40 time, this is a must pick.
10 New Orleans CB Leodis McElvin Troy State Will start immediately!
11 Buffalo WR DeSean Jackson California Need a boost on offense, say no more.
12 Denver OT Ryan Clady Boise State Cutler needs the protection.
13 Carolina OT Chris Williams Vanderbilt Delhomme will be thankful for this pick.
14 Chicago RB Rashard Mendenhall Illinois RB problem solved. They'll take Henne in the 2nd if available.
15 Detroit OLB Keith Rivers USC Defense gets better immediately in Motown.
16 Arizona RB Jonathan Stewart Orgeon Maybe a reach but they need one.
17 Minnesota WR Limas Sweed Texas Could be the best WR in the draft?
18 Houston CB Aqib Talib Kansas They need help in the secondary and this will just about do it.
19 Philadelphia DE Derrick Harvey Florida The Freaks back!
20 Tampa Bay WR Malcom Kelly Oklahoma Great speed at 4.47 for his size 6'4", 217 lbs.
21 Washington DE Calais Campbell Miami Great pick for a team in need of a pass rush.
22 Dallas (from Browns) S Kenny Phillips Miami Big, fast and can play cornerback too!
23 Pittsburgh OT Jeff Otah Pittsburgh 6'6", 340 lbs, can open any hole you want.
24 Tennessee WR James Hardy Indiana Great hands and at 6'6" not many can cover him.
25 Seattle TE Fred Davis USC Big target, combine didn't help.
26 Jacksonville DE Phillip Merling Clemson This guy's been moving up most draft boards. May lose one due to FA.
27 San Diego OLB Dan Connor Penn State Great addition and immediate impact player. Like they need more.
28 Dallas CB D. Rodgers-Cromartie Tennessee State Big boost or big bust to the secondary!
29 San Francisco (from Colts) DT Kentwan Balmer North Carolina I don't think as highly of this guy as most but he is a great pick here.
30 Green Bay QB Chad Henne Michigan Not sure about Rodgers? The Pack isn't either.
31 NY Giants OT Sam Baker USC They look to upgrade protection for the Superbowl QB.
32 No Pick (Patriots forfeit)

2nd Round
Dre Moore, DT, Maryland Could be: Trevor Laws, DT, Notre Dame

3rd Round
Erin Henderson, OLB, Maryland

4th Round
Traded to the Jets for J. Vilma

5th Round
Adam Kraus, OG, Michigan Can also play center

6th Round
Kolo Kapanui, TE, West Texas A&M

7th Round
Kevin O'Connell, QB, San Diego State

I dont think you can trade Duce at this point. Pushing back the bonus money is a sign that he can be cut sometime in the future. Who is going to trade for a player that has a chance of being cut.

He is also coming off two ACL injury's......trading draft picks for a RB is never worth it. Especially considering that we are trying to hand off damange goods on another team for a fourth rounder.

What is funny to me is everyone thinking we are CB... did anyone see we signed anothe CB this off season. We have to much money and bodies at that position to be drafting another one. We are going else where already!!!
I really like our position but we will have to move up or can definately trade back a few spots... lots of options.

Re: Mock Draft Updated 3/23/08.......

Those DT's aren't pass rushing DT's. They are sit there and wait till the rb come to them and then tackle them DT's. We need a potential pash rushing DT. Grant sliding down to the inside on passing downs, isn't the answer. He is another tackle the runner when he comes to him DE.
Every one of the DT's are expendible if we draft one of the top 2 DT in the draft asside from Thomas and Young.
Do not... DO NOT rule out drafting a WR at 10.

LOL you're a real funny guy, CB will be the pick unless Dorsey or Ellis falls.
