McAllister pinning hopes on return from surgeries
SunHerald.com : CAN DEUCE RETURN?
"I was really on the outside, I guess, right there until the end decision," McAllister said. "Management and my agent, Mickey (Loomis, Saints general manager) and my agent had been back and forth. For them to make good on their investment as far as paying me the roster bonus, I wanted to make good on my health-wise. "The last two or three years having ACL surgery on both knees, it's pretty much an unfortunate deal. Before we went into this season, I wanted to make sure I was healthy and obviously the team felt the same way." |

Re: McAllister pinning hopes on return from surgeries
My heart wants Deuce to return and be our guy for the next three or four years, but my head tells me that he has definitely become a liability with two bum knees. I think they should cut their losses with him and see what a trio of Reggie, Pierre, and Aaron can do for a season. I think P.T. can be an above average RB in this offense if given the opportunity.

Re: McAllister pinning hopes on return from surgeries
Give him the roster bonus, which he deserves, and then re-work the contract. He doesn't want to leave, and we all want him to stay, but he is not the same guy.
Change the money and change the role. Deuce is smart enough to know that if he gets cut, he will be lucky to make 60% of what he is getting now. |

Re: McAllister pinning hopes on return from surgeries
I don’t think cutting our losses with McAllister is the answer. Reggie is not a work hoarse like Deuce and Aaron is not the answer. PT in my opinion can handle the load. Deuce can rebound which he has proven from his 1st ACL and I think he can do this time around. Now restricting his contract may be the thing to do and draft a running back in round 3 or a FA would fill in fine but to cut loses – I don’t think so.
D_it_up2 I have to disagree with your post but ScottF your right on point with your post. |
