this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; His mistakes in Preseason were due to the fact that he was trying to make too much out of a bad situation. Can't fault a rook for that too much....

I think the exact reason we brought Brunell in was because he and Palko are both lefties. |

If he can pick up reading the defenses better, he's got a legit shot at making the squad. I hope he does... I really hope he does, I mean I rather him taking up a roster spot than OLD Martin. |

I'd be very dissappointed if we cut Palco and kept 80 years worth of backups. Is Palco even eligible for the PS this year? |

Re: FORGOTTEN MAN: Tyler Placo
ScottF - Yes, Palko should be eligible for the practice squad. I think Palko was on the active roster for four games last year, weeks 1, 2, 3 and 17:
Practice Squad Eligibility A team may establish a practice squad of no more than eight* players who do not have an accrued season of free agency credit or who were on the 45-player active list for less than nine regular season games during their only accrued season. A player cannot participate on the practice squad for more than two seasons. |

So its possible a guy could be out of the NFL entirely if after riding the PS this season and no one signs him again and the Saints want to retain him on the PS again but can't. So they guy won't be eligible to work??? I smell a law suit in the making. You have the right to work and if a team wants to hire you... duh. |
