Grant had surgery!
Grant's busy offseason included surgeries
Posted by Jimmy Smith, The Times-Picayune March 27, 2008 2:19PM Categories: Saints It has been a medically busy offseason for Saints defensive end Charles Grant who has seen more physicians than he'd ordinarily like. In January, Grant underwent surgery in Birmingham to repair a torn ligament in his left ankle, an injury he apparently sustained on Oct. 28 in a win over the San Francisco 49ers, the severity of which Grant said was known by the Saints front office and coaches but never revealed publicly. In February, Grant found himself in a hospital emergency room near Blakely, Ga., to have a stab wound in his neck, sustained in an altercation outside a nightclub, stitched. After signing a seven-year contract that could ultimately be worth $63 million, Grant struggled through 2007 appearing heavy and out of shape, matters complicated by the ankle injury that apparently was far more severe than the Saints ever acknowledged. "Last year," Grant said. "I could have easily just hung my cleats up after I hurt myself in San Francisco. That's not my game. I played through the whole season, torn ligament in my ankle and couldn't really get the 'get off' that I wanted. The coach and the GM knew that. This organization knew that." Re: Grant had surgery!
Grant was pretty horrible last year and it was due to his injury. All I know is he had better bring it on, and play consistently at the level of his contract. It's about time for him to be a complete player instead of all this inconsistent stuff since coming into the league. The dude can flat out play when he is healthy and motivated.

Re: Grant had surgery!
Newspaper says that Dr. James Andrews performed Grant's surgery.
Does this Andrews guy ever sleep? Seems like every player in the league goes to this guy. |
