Former Saints Mare and Fincher......

Seahawks signed K Olindo Mare.

The Broncos made Mare an offer on Wednesday, but were apparently outbid by the Seahawks, who signed Mare to a two-year deal worth $3.5 million. Mare has been brutal for the past two seasons, and Seattle will likely draft someone to compete with him.

Lions signed LB Alfred Fincher.

Fincher has never quite earned the third-round pick that the Saints spent on him in 2005, and the team waived him after he suffered a concussion in November. He'll compete for a roster spot and should contribute on special teams in Detroit.

Mare could not kick inside and now he is going to kick outside in Seattle...this is another disaster waiting to happen. Jessssssssshhhhhhhh

At least he got out of New Orleans without missing an extra point attempt. WHew, lol.

Anyone know if Morten Anderson has a son... can we go ahead and use a draft pick now on that kid and get his rights just in case... lol.

I'm kind of surprised there was somewhat of a bidding war for Mare. He did have some good seasons in the past, maybe he will bounce back. Still, after the season he had, a bidding war?

Good - they're both NFC. And they can have Mare and Fincher. When an opponent gets worse, we get better.

.. well, here's the thing with Mare...
.. touchbacks, money
.. onside kicks, money
.. field goals, not so good, but has the excuse of being hurt all year last year.

... I don't know... El Enano Pateador vs Mare.... I just don't know...

Kicking Statistics
NAME 1-20 20-29 30-39 40-49 50+ TOT PCT AVG LNG XPM/A PTS
Martin Gramatica 0/0 0/0 2/2 2/2 1/1 5/5 100.0 43.0 55 8/8 23
Olindo Mare 0/0 4/5 3/4 2/3 1/5 10/17 58.8 35.0 52 34/34 64

Actually, this may sound odd, but Mare didn't do too bad inside the 50. He 9 of 12 inside the 50 yard line. Perhaps he had a confidence problem when he got a little too far out. But still, 1-5 from 50+ is not good. Oh well, I had zero confidence in the guy anyway.

I had no confidence in the guy whatsoever. I chewed my fingernails everytime he attempted a FG - even inside the 40, and I know I'm not hte only one. Let them have him. There's another young Vinatieri out there somewhere, just waiting to make a name for himself.

Everytime Mare kicked an extra point my heart felt like it would beat out my chest. I'm glad we got rid of Mr. Wide Left aka Mr.Wide right aka Mr. He kicked it too short.
