Re: would you take brett as a backup?

Yes isn't this very weird and cautious and Farve's camp. This was mentioned on another site not long ago as well which doing this leaves the door open for him to return.

Back up in NO close to home for him HELL TO THE YEAH! What this guy can do on the bench for say Palco go for it... But the problem is Brees is a Vet and earned his stipes. Even a stand up guy... I don't like what message this sends to him.

Altough if we are in the play offs and Brees goes down, I can't see any other QB we have that I would rather see at the helm.

hmmm… let me think abo.. HELL NO!!

Euph, there is nothing he can do for Palko. Remember what he said when asked about mentoring Aaron Rodgers.

Last thing the Saints need is a freaking ego-maniac as a back up, undermining Drew Brees.

He may have lasted as long as he lasted, but he wasn’t THAT good….

Re: would you take brett as a backup?

First off, Brett Favre would not come back to a team as a backup. If he did come back to play in the NFL it would be as a starter for teams like the Dolphins, Vikings, Falcons (his original team)etc. not as a backup.

For the sake of argument say he were to come to the Saints. I and most of America would be extremely discombobulated. The QB position is diluted in the NFL. A lot of teams are starving for a sufficient QB let alone a good to great QB.

Thank God Drew Brees plays for the Saints. I'd take him over almost every other QB in the league. I think I love the man.

Yes you are correct. I even recall he in an interview that he wasn't there in GB to mentor anyone, thats not his job.

Yes also there would be major back-lash for any team who would sign him other than GB. This all could be a ploy to get him MAJOR bucks for another year.

Lets be honest as well he's lucky to have lasted this long. He'd only have one year an no time to build chemistry so no other team is going to want him really except for the nostolgia (SP).
