Trading down with Philly?
I don't know if this has been discussed already but my ideal draft would be us swapping picks with Philly at 19 and getting Lito. Then with the 19th pick taking Jerod Mayo. I believe he is the most underrated player in the draft.

Based on what?
Jerod Mayo Scouting Report - 2008 NFL Draft Prospect 'marginal blitzer'. I'll pass. We need a pass rush. I see Connor going before hime and Connor may not even get drafted in the first round. |

Re: Trading down with Philly?
Okay as much as you're knocking Mayo on his pass rushing skills, you do realize how many career sacks Rivers had at USC right? He's not exactly a great blitzer himself. In 49 career games at USC, Rivers had 5.5 sacks. So if you're going to use Mayo is a "marginal blitzer" as a reason why we should pass on him to select Rivers, that's weak.

Re: Trading down with Philly?
Mayo is a very good LB. If you doubt that, just watch last year's SEC championship game. The guy is always around the ball & is a sure tackler. He would have been a top 10 pick next year. That said, I think we have addressed the LB position. Give me DT Dre Moore at #19. All that said, I think this trade scenario would be a godsend.

Re: Trading down with Philly?
Boom or bust player? Don't make your judgement on the opinions of others. Make them on facts:
Dre Moore, Maryland Height: 6-4. Weight: 305. Projected 40 Time: 4.82. Combine 40 Time: 4.88. Benchx225: 31. Vertical . Projected Round: 1-2. Dre Moore was the talk of the combine at defensive tackle, as his blazing 40 (4.88) was very impressive, considering his 305-pound frame. Thirty-one reps of 225 pounds wasn't too shabby either. "Moore played out of his mind against West Virginia. Steve Slaton simply couldn't run in Moore's direction, as the senior defensive tackle was in the Mountaineers' backfield the majority of the plays. He really improved his draft stock. That 4.82 is not a misprint. Moore, who excels at stopping the run and getting to the quarterback, is a workout warrior. He'll bench 225 pounds at least 30 times. He has also notched a 34-inch vertical in the past. An expected, excellent combine may get Moore into the first round." I went out on a limb & got clowned when I wanted Marques Colston in the 3rd round. I'm doing it again.....this guy will be a solid starter for years. He is definately worth a mid to late 1st round pick. By the way....he doesn't take off plays & is a workout warrior. This is not a Jonathon Sullivan pick like Balmer. |

Re: Trading down with Philly?
Believe me I am not letting my judgement based on opinion of others... including your own opinion. I like they actually but just not in the top 20 picks. If he's there when we come up in the second. I'd day work the gamble then.

Why not address both of our needs here? Oh...Moore will not be there when we pick in the 2nd. |
