RUMOR :Eagles trying to use Lito to Move Up
Rumor has it that the Eagles want to move and pick a top rated Tackle, They are offering Sheppard . IMHO this would be a No-Brainer for the Saints , we pick up a top starter at Cb and can still pick a player of roughly the same value at #19 . as we would get at #10. The difference in bonus money for our #1 would make getting a contract for Lito more acceptable . Let's hope this rumor plays out. I read this rumor in Mike Detillier's column in the Houma paper

Re: RUMOR :Eagles trying to use Lito to Move Up
The only concern I have with this is the money that it will take to sign Lito. Granted Lito is a proven commodity, given the Saints recent failures at the CB position, that alone may justify the move. But I also think that if CB is the primary position of need, first round pick, then I also wouldn't mind picking one of the top CBs in the draft at #10 and insist on signing him to a 5 year deal - like New England does.
Now like you mentioned, if Phil is willing to trade Lito for just a swapping of first round picks, then by all means do it. I'm not sure if that is enough though? I guess it comes down to the draft point system. |

screw Lito, he's an overated cb on the downside of his career. Draft Rivers first if he's available and a cb in the 2nd maybe Cason and we'll be better now and in the future without Litos big salary.

Re: RUMOR :Eagles trying to use Lito to Move Up
The Redskins were reportedly concerned with Lito Sheppard's health when the Eagles asked about their interest in him last month.
Sheppard hasn't played a full 16-game slate since 2003. The big, new contract he wants may have been near as big a turnoff. The Redskins might entertain trading for a cornerback on draft day, but Sheppard seems unlikely. Fantasy Football - news, projections, rankings, draft guide - Rotoworld.com |

Bingo we have a winner. INJURIES.
Thats why I say the eagles have to kick in a pick to get it done. Fourth sound good? At worst we get him for a year....well 3/4 of a year and he keeps Morgan company on the IR, then we let him walk and go after a comp pick in 2010. Still draft at least two and let them develop. OR Look at him as a stop gap player and then go after Nnamdi Asomugha in 2009. But Philli must kick in a pick to move up. |

My hope is Gibbs, along with the new defensive back coach, have rethought the scheme they will employ in 2008. |
