Re: Value in Rd 2

Man I'm liking some of the names you guys are throwing around on here. Pakowitz, I'm with you all the way on J. Stewart. The term "beast" is used alot to describe players but that term really applies to this guy. His size/speed ratio is scary and he recorded his 40 times in Indy with a bad case of turf toe! Anybody who has played ball and come down with a case of turf toe knows how bad that hurts. It hurts to walk must less run in the 4.4 range in the 40. He has the perfect build for a power back, about 5'11'' 230lbs. I think 5'11'' is the perfect height for a power back because it's tall enough to carry alot of weight while still having a low center of gravity. Jonathan Stewart is getting overlooked by many fans and I don't get it. You hear alot of hype about McFadden, Mendenhall, and Felix Jones but rarely does anyone mention Stewart. I think all this Felix Jones hype is a joke. He isn't in the same class as those other guys and I don't think he is a top 20 pick. You can bet your arse that Stewart isn't flying under the radars of coaches and GMs. His recent surgery will hurt his stock but I don't know if it will hurt it enough for him to drop to us in round two. Who wouldn't love to have a 230lb RB who runs a 4.4 and can catch better than alot of tight ends. He's built like a tank and I read that he had record breaking strength numbers at Orrgon. This Duck is a freak

Hey Pak, is Stewart falling pretty far in the recent mocks? If he fell to us in the second I would take him over any other player that is supposed to still be around. I have him ranked third on my RB rankings behind Run DMC and Mendenhall. I actually had Stewart at two before I found out about the surgery issue.

i too felt like johnathon stewart would fit in with the saints best.. he could be the thunder to reggie's lightening just as deuce was in reggie's rookie season. would be a sick tandrum. but i dunno what to expect with his surgery and stuff..?

i just think no matter who we draft.. it's going to be a great draft. has potential to be one of the best value drafts in a while. granted 2006 was pretty good.. 2007'S DRaft was one of the worst for us.. depending on whether meachem can amount to good this season.

I think we learned our lesson in last year's draft with the taking project players route. This year I look for us to get more proven guys who can come in contribute right away. I think this year's group will be the best of the decade because we will be looking at alot of value where we're picking.

Stewart was getting plenty of love until his injury... which is the only reason why he's sliding. He easily would have stayed in that top 17 picks... and he still might if he gets that medical clearance.
