well, according to the scrolling ticker on espn, the dolphins are currently in negotiations with T Jake Long and DE/LB Vernon Gholston...so i would say that he won't be falling to #10, but anything is possible.

but with a trade to get the #1 pick from miami, and them starting the rumor he's just another bust, the saints move up and take who? while miami, or should i say, the tuna, quietly waits with a deal in place for vernon.....
absurd you say, we are talking about the saints, are we not?

ssmitty,
i guess i don't understand your post...are you suggesting that the saints might trade up to #1? if so, you have lost your stinkin mind...no way would that ever happen for the players in this draft...who would we possibly trade up to the #1 spot (giving up almost our entire draft this year and part of next years) to draft? dorsey? not with the question marks surrounding him.

yes, i have lost my mind.......when i became a saints fan to be exact.....
and why not dorsey? benson takes the pride of lsu for treating him so badly while he was trying to sell the saints to texas, yes, i said texas, and thus forces the lsu crowd to join ranks with the saint's fans and continue to suck us dry until we die.................................
there, i said it...................
and , i feel better.................
you do know, this is in fun, don't you?
and, nice to hear from you jergensl, where you been? smitty

Re: now gholston could fall to us......

ssmitty,
i too understand the insanity of being a saints fan....i understand that new orleans is close to LSU and everything, but i still think it is funny how every decent player from LSU should be a saints prospect...lol

peanut,
as dorsey goes, i have heard and read a lot about some concerns on dorsey. scouts think he may be too slow to provide any sort of pass rush at the nfl level...i know he was double and triple teamed in college, but he never was a pass rusher...they have also voiced concerns about durability and his lack of size (6'2 or 6'1 299-303 lbs)...his arms are too short and caused him problems in college of o-linemen getting inside and turning him out...from what i have read, the overall opinion is that he will be a good not great "clogger" in the run game, but with his lack of size he may have problems handling nfl level guards.

the guy was hurt quite a bit in college and had some explosive moments, but never maintained a great level for long. i just don't think he will be anything special or nearly worth the saints trading up for, but hey, he could prove me wrong and be the next coming of warren sapp.

Re: now gholston could fall to us......

ok now that is crazy talk...

He provided inspirational leadership for that D. He single handely won games. That is the true defintion of a dominate players. Sure they trumb up question marks around players... if you recall there were a lot about Payton Manning to. yeah we all know how that turned out.

euph,
you really wanna talk about "crazy talk?"....

back in the day, weren't you the once proud, "head of the jason craft fan club?" (yes, I will forever hold that over your head...lol)

there are plenty of players that are "inspirational leaders," but that does not mean that they will be successful in the nfl...and the concerns i listed about dorsey are very valid and should be weighed carefully by any team that drafts him.
