I hate it when football players imitate to be football players... it's a sad sight. I don't know why this joker is still on our team... he's nothing more than a role player. We should seriously consider upgrading.

LMAO. Now come on there isn't anything wrong with roleplayers, you need them but I just think people get mis-guided in the expectations of him being the guy. He needs certain players to come in and play roles around him. He's actually filling the same role he had at USC. He wasn't main RB there nor WR. He played a role in a offense's game plan.
I think it was more the team around him that won a lot of those games and he just made the highlights. LOL.
I don't have a problem with Bush on the team but to but that much burden on him is just unjustified because he never was that type of player.

Sapper Ithought the exact same thing as you. If he wants to hear MVP he must play way better. I read it again and figured he was talking about CP3. It was very dissappointing at first to think he would settle for an equal to last season.

3. Brett Favre, Green Bay Packers--Amazing Favre is so high given that the Packers jersey has never changed.

4. Peyton Manning, Indianapolis Colts--Probably most boring/generic jersey in the NFL.

5. LaDainian Tomlinson, San Diego Chargers--Good running backs are always in top 10

6. Adrian Peterson, Minnesota Vikings--With Moss and Culpepper gone, Peterson fills the purple gap.

7. Eli Manning, New York Giants--With the Super Bowl win, this should climb in the off season.

8. Randy Moss, New England Patriots--Ten years ago, Moss became the only rookie to have the league's most popular jersey.

9. Brian Urlacher, Chicago Bears--The embodiment of the nation's second largest market.

10. Troy Polamalu, Pittsburgh Steelers--See Urlacher. This guy is the ultimate blue collar player for a blue collar place.

11. Devin Hester, Chicago Bears--This might be the most amazing guy on this list considering he only has 20 receptions in two years. I feel pretty confident in saying I never thought a kick returner would get this high.

12. Marion Barber, Dallas Cowboys--Winning again means Cowboys fans will spread the love around.

13. Reggie Bush, New Orleans Saints--This is a huge drop for Bush. He was No. 2 last year.

14. Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers--Best value for the letters.

15. Terrell Owens, Dallas Cowboys--Interesting how much Cowboys fans prefer the Romo part of the connection over Owens.

16. Jason Witten, Dallas Cowboys--At No. 82, he's the highest number on the list.

17. Brady Quinn, Cleveland Browns--Pretty good for a guy who was on the field for a couple plays this season.

18. Sean Taylor, Washington Redskins--A spot on this list is an unbelievable tribute to the late Taylor.

19. Brian Westbrook, Philadelphia Eagles--With Donovan McNabb out of favor, Philly represents through Westbrook.

20. Bob Sanders, Indianapolis Colts- Joins Urlacher, Polamalu and Taylor as the only defensive players in the Top 20.

Both fans and the media ride the guy.
The hype machine had dude pegged as a cross between LT and Hester. Bush is supposed to be rushing for 1500 yards, scoring TDs every time he touches the ball, breaking league TD and total yards records, and striking fear into kickoff and punt teams all through the league.

The fact of the matter is that our offense is too prolific and too frenetic for anyone to consistently get that kind of productions. Presuming that Bush averages 15 rushing touches per game, dude would have to have a 6.25 YPC average to get 1500 yards over the course of a season.

From a quick look around profootballreference.com only one back in NFL history gained those kind of yards with that high a YPC over the course of a season: Jim Brown 1963 1863 yards on 291 carries for 6.4 YPC.

It just seems that everyone wants Bush to be LT, or AP. But that's not who he is, or probably is ever going to be.

From a rushing standpoint I'd be satisfied if Bush, and the J-line, can learn to simply rush effectively when needed. If dude can get 4 to 4.5 YPC of productive yards when he rushes, I really wouldn't care if he only rushes for 70-75 YPG. That's really all the Saints need from him to be effective.
