Re: Schedule is OUT
Looks much better than last year's schedule. I hope we crush Tampa at home. It'll definitely make a statement and give us momentum going into Washington and Denver.

Re: Saints 2008 schedule
There's a shocker! At chicago again!

Re: Saints 2008 schedule
I absolutely LOVE this schedule. The Chargers are the only game that I think is a sure loss this year. Our Bye is smack dab in the middle of the season and we start and end with Division games. I also think the AFC West and NFC North are going to suck this year! I absolutely LOVE this schedule over last years!
12-4 this year fellas!!!!!! |
Re: Saints 2008 schedule
I'm not sure if this means much but I think it does.
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=3347716 We have the 5th easiest schedule based on teams 2007 records. By the way the Patriots have the easiest. Hmmmm.....Wonder why they get homefield advantage every year. |

Re: Saints 2008 schedule
I hate our schedule...
How is it possible to go 33 days between home games? WTF???????? As far as the Pats... When you have the ability to go undefeated... Isn't every schedule going to be easy? |
Re: Saints 2008 schedule
6 Oct. 12 Oakland Raiders 1 p.m.
7 Oct. 19 at Carolina Panthers 1 p.m. 8 Oct. 26 San Diego Chargers (in London) 1 p.m. 9 Nov. 2 Bye 10 Nov. 9 at Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m. 11 Nov. 16 at Kansas City Chiefs 1 p.m. 12 Nov. 24 (Mon.) Green Bay Packers 8:30 p.m. Tough stretch |

Playing in London makes it possible. At least we have a Bye the week after and then two cupcake game, short flights to ATL and KC. The Patriots continue to play in that laughing stock of a division AFC East. That doesn't help matters for sure. |
Re: Saints 2008 schedule
I like the bye after the London game and the team will fly out straight from the Carolina game and get adjusted. Afterwards, some time to rest and get ready for the rest of the year.
And, I LOVE the two Monday night games in the dome. Thanks NFL. |
Re: Saints 2008 schedule
Other than Phillip Rivers I don't see a quality QB that can hurt us in the group. I think this more than anything should facilitate us taking Rivers first round and DT second round. I think if we can take the run away first we should have good success pressuring all of these Mediocre to crappy QB's into some pics on third down.
No Mannings - Eli or Peyton No Brady No Palmer No Young No Bulger I mean we are going to be going up against Jamarcus Russell, Alex Smith, whoever Tampa throws out there, whoever ATL throws out there, maybe Delhomme, Brodie Croyle, Aaron Rodgers, Rex Grossman, Tavaris Jackson, etc. None of those guys strikes much fear in my heart. All or most of those teams have potent ground attacks however. We must beef up our front seven. |
Re: Saints 2008 schedule
I agree. Without pressure, even these guys will pick us apart. We've all seen it.
|
Re: Saints 2008 schedule
I'm planning to come to a game again this year and i'll also plan to get one on the road the week befor or after so I got 2 questions. Will it be warm enough in Florida in November that I can go to the beach if I go to Tampa Bay and are the Bucs fans friendly against us Saints fans?
I would love to watch 2 division games and Bucs and Falcons are only one week apart... |

B. On my trips to TB, the fans have always been cool. It's a great stadium to watch a game (especially under the ship) and a great town to hang out in after the game. I live in Atlanta now and they have a mixed bag of fans (cheaper seats = nastier fans) I'm planning on making TB for the game also. Let me know if you go!! |

Re: Saints 2008 schedule
we won't lose to the Chargers btw
|
Re: Saints 2008 schedule
Are they tough teams? - no. But it's not just about who you're playing - it's also about how much traveling you're doing, and how many time zones you're shifting, and how much rest and time you're getting to acclimate to those new time zones.
I worked in a consulting position for nearly a decade. And I can tell you from experience - the traveling, the shifting from time zone to time zone, it can really take your legs out from under you. |
Re: Saints 2008 schedule
i say 10-6 or 11-5. much easier schedule than last year!

Re: Saints 2008 schedule
It's hard to look at the schedule now. Who knows who will be good. With all the FA pickups by the Raiders I wouldn't even count them out. I still wish the Chargers would have eaten that London home game. I would have loved to see them come to the Dome. I think week 1 will tell us alot. The defending division champ week 1 home. wow. The Nfl must think we will be decent to put us on primetime 4 times, but alot of that has to do with Reggie. All I heard on the Espn radio today was Bush vs Peterson Oct. 6.

PS, on the schedule, I like it. Last year it started with at Indy and TB, so we are already one step ahead. |
Re: Saints 2008 schedule
i can see us getting to 12-4.. more likely 11-5... but we will win the south and once we get in the playoffs.. anything can happen baby! wooo!

Re: Saints 2008 schedule
I watched ESPN (mistake, I know) just in time to hear them bash the Saints. None of them besides Jaws give us a winning season.
Jones Drew was on there and had a like smack takl as well. I was wondering.....didn't we beat them last year????? |

Re: Saints 2008 schedule
My bad... No games in the Dome in 43 days... I guess I am over reacting.
But just to be sure... 7 Oct. 19 at Carolina Panthers 1 p.m. On the road... Division opponent... time could be rescheduled... 8 Oct. 26 San Diego Chargers (in London) 1 p.m. On the road... potential Super Bowl contender... 9 Nov. 2 Bye 10 Nov. 9 at Atlanta Falcons 1 p.m. They may suck... but the check the overall record... it's alway a tough game... oh yeah on the road again... 11 Nov. 16 at Kansas City Chiefs 1 p.m. On the road... one of toughest places to play in the league... 12 Nov. 24 (Mon.) Green Bay Packers 8:30 p.m. Finally, a home game... against the team who was in the NFC title game. These are 5 games we could easily lose and only one is at home. |

Re: Saints 2008 schedule
I really don't care about strenght of schedule. I mean if you want to be a champion you have to play solid teams that are legit contenders. If we play a week schedule and end up in the play offs and get blown out... really what good is that? You stand up and get tested during the season so you know where you stand against them and even better prepare for them in the playoffs... EXAMPLE - Giants. They lost ot the PATs in regular season but they were so fired up to have another crack at them in the SB.
I really feel the problem with us is that we don't have a championship team as a rival. |
