Yep, that is the type of back we should be looking at and from what you are describing that is not McFadden. There are guys in the middle rounds that can take on this role. Keep in mind that a back who can take the ball between the tackles and as a short yardage back does not necessarily have to be 235 lbs (although I would love to have Stewart at 235 or Mendenhall at 225) brusing through the middle. Matt Forte and Kevin Smith at 215-220 are good players for this role. Ray Rice is a great example of someone who will have just that role you are talking about in the NFL but is nowhere near the measureables of a "big back". At 5-8 200, he will be a great player at getting the tough yards in between the tackles and opening up space for the faster, explosive playmakers on a team.

If you have texting I can text you the picks. I already made plans to sit and watch the entire draft, order a pizza each day, and a 24 pack of yoo-hoo. Life will be sweet.

ive come to the conclusion that our 1st round pick is not worth a running back...no matter what.....even with duece and reggie out almost all of last year....we still got it done cuz Aaron comes back year after year and steps up and never gets ne credit....however....it is one of the postitions we need to assess later in the draft....maybe 5 or 6...that does not sway my opinion however that mcfadden would make a good fit in new orleans....i must agree with BR about stewart....IMO if he is available late in round 1 or early round 2...we must trade up to get him...we cant, year after year, continuously wonder who our starting running back will be
