Well hell I'd settle for them just give the pick to us for nothing... its going to be and has to be swaping first round and us giving up our second round pick for Dorsey. DORSEY has to be the guy. Getting Dorsey is a big deal, politically, location, and which one won the National Championship.

Neither. Trade back for an additional pick in the later rounds! There are DT who are serviceable in the 2nd round.

We dont need a serviceable DT we need a star DT and in my opinion that Glen Dorsey.

the DTs we have now are "servicable" we dont need more of those types of DTs.. we need a playmaker in the middle..

Seek a trade with Philly for #19 and Lito or Philly's second round pick. #10 is valued at 1300, #19 is valued at 875 which leaves 425 which is almost equivilent to Philly's 2nd round pick at #49 or 410 points.

The Saints end up with #19, #40, Lito or #49.

At #19 maybe LB;Mayo, CB;Talib, S;Phillips,

Servicable DT's would be Laws, Sims, Harrison with #40. At #49 (if Lito is excluded) CB's, Cason, Porter, or TE Keller or use #49 for Shockey if still available.

Numerous options. My belief is Benson is cheap, and I mean really cheap and will not want to pay #2 $$$$ for Dorsey.

That's my opinion, and am sticking with it! We all will find out soon enough...come on Saturday.

Insanity is defined as doing the same thing over, over, and over again...and expecting a different outcome!

you're wrong on this one imho.

first of all I'm getting sick of the "benson is cheap" nonsense. you have no idea if he is or isn't cheap, that just seems like the trendy thing to say these days and we really have no reason to say things like that. he paid #2 money to Reggie, we paid top dollar for Brees (which was at the time a huge risk), and this organization has shown that it'll do whatever it takes money wise to get the best team together.

anyway, I would prefer to send our 1st and 2nd to the Rams for the #2 and get Dorsey. then, I'd like to send a conditional pick next year for Shockey. I'd probably guarantee a 2nd rounder, and if he hits some performance incentives (lets say a pro bowl type season) they get a first. I don't think they could resist a possible 1st rounder for him.

in the third we get a solid LB/CB and in the 5th we'll see if any of the RBs drop.

servicable??? we'd be 7-9 again this year.

I don't care to have servicable players from a weak draft class. I'll pass get me elite/special players in this case. I was on the bandwagon of trading back myself but the more I look at the draft the more I am against it... trade up or stay put.
