Re: mckelvin works out for payton
mckelvin is the only CB worth taking at 10, i think hes the only CB that would make an impact this year. sure drc has a lot of upside, but can we afford to wait 2-3 years on him?
and i still think rivers can be there at 10 |

Is Mckelvin as good as DARRELLE REVIS. Unless the Saints are trading up to get him. He'll never fall to the SAINTS

grant, portis, peterson, gore, larry johnson, LT, whoever denver has is always successful, i still think the raiders will draft mcfadden, earnest graham did well against us in the 2nd game last year. i dont think we're that great against the run, we didnt give up much per game due to the fact that teams could throw at will. |

Re: mckelvin works out for payton
I just have a question about the big topic of the day? If the cb position would be upgraded with more pressure on the qb why was only one cb constantly burned?
It was not the play of our cbs that sucked but the play of our front 7. Sure it would help if the qb never throws the ball because he gets sacked on every pass play. But lets be real MM didnt give up all those big pass plays JD did. No amount of pressure from the front 7 is going to help when a cb playing man-to-man bites on every play action pass. CornerBack is a position of need but it will be a surpise which if any of these cbs we have ranked as a #10 talent. Pretty sure we have Rivers ranked that high and lb is a position of need also. I dont think they will count on Morgan as a constant and reliable starter and it will keep Simeneua on the sidelines. |
Re: mckelvin works out for payton
At 10 we should take Rivers if he is there. What use is a CB if people can run on us? Also, CBs are a way bigger gamble than LBs in the first round.
I'd like to see us move up for a DT, but that will be costly. If we don't, BPA is Rivers at 10. I don't think it is so obvious that a pass rush will automatically help the secondary as appears to be expressed here. Further, a good secondary will help the pass rush - but one CB won't improve our secondary that much, whereas one DT will improve our pass rush substantially. Maybe I'm a bit gun shy on building the secondary when our run defense has struggled. A pass rusher will also play in the front seven and a good player will help more here against the run than a member of the secondary. |
