Re: Duece's future as a saint
I think with the restructuring of his contract, he will be on the roster this season so long as we do not select a RB early in the draft. I think that after they delayed his roster bonus, they would not have worked with him on his contract to cut him later on. How productive he will be is more the question? I think you will see some sort of split in carries in the ratio of Bush 50 / Deuce 30 / Other Backs 20.

I havent heard that one either. Just my supposition. I should have explained better - I would say touches from a RB standpoint, not just carries.

Re: Duece's future as a saint
im kinda glad u cleaned that up....i can easily see reggie being a focal point in the offense this year...i think he could be a feature back....but i dont think he's ready....carrying the load is a stretch i think....i would lose interest in the team quickly.....reggie thinks that the ball gets along too well with the ground

Re: Duece's future as a saint
50 percent of the carries isn't exactly that big of the load as he suggested. I can definitely see that sort of split... it'll allow Pierre to develop and it should keep Deuce fresh.
I, unlike others, do believe Reggie can handle a significantly higher load if need be. This will be his third year and I expect him to make big strides running the football. We tend to forget how young he is and what type of runner he was in college. I didn't expect him to take that long to get adjusted, but I believe he'll turn the corner sooner than later. As far as how long I expect Deuce to remain a Saint, I think he'll remain a Saint as long as he wants to. As long as he realizes he's no longer at full time number 1 back (especially getting paid like one), there's always a spot for him. He'll be a quality backup here as long as he wants to be. |

look he will retire a saint. The contract is just a start. once we see were he is on the road to recovery we will have a better idea. If it looks so-so I am betting he redoes the contract one more time and stays a saint.
