The Wes Welker of the 2008 Draft Class?
Brandon Breazell, WR, UCLA: When UCLA held its Pro Day last month, Breazell was intent on bettering his 4.47 40 from the combine. So he ran a 4.38, putting him on the board for some team looking for a late-round playmaker. Breazell is not big. In fact, at 5-11½, 160, he will fall off some draft boards. "But he's a tough little sucker," said one coach, "and he's exciting." He has good hands. He's quick. And he's a terrific vertical threat, scoring 11 touchdowns of at least 23 yards and averaging 18.5 yards a catch in 2006. He had his best season in 2007 with 51 receptions, more than the total (47) of his previous three years. While he suffered some nagging injuries throughout his career there was nothing that caused him to miss much time. National Football League - CBSSports.com I have been looking for a late round 6th or 7th round guy that may develop into a solid #3. This maybe the guy. The write ups are so so. But watching him play is different. Hey you guys in LaLa land chime in on him for me. |

Re: The Wes Welker of the 2008 Draft Class?
Ill take the first crack.
Strengths: Great timed speed...Quick with a burst....Elusive and will make people miss in the open field...Has good hands...A great vertical threat...Gets decent separation...Is relatively tough...Can be a weapon on trick plays and reverses...A big play maker. Weaknesses: Extremely undersized and has a very hard time putting on weight....Is not strong of physical and gets pushed around...Won't break any tackles...Struggles to beat the jam...Offers almost nothing as a blocker..Durability's an issue...Limited upside Looks like maybe a worth taking a shot as a deep threat. |

Re: The Wes Welker of the 2008 Draft Class?
I probably wouldn't waste a draft pick on him. If he is not drafted there is no harm at giving him a shot. There just isn't much a guy playing WR at 160lbs can offer an NFL team. Maybe a kick returner or 6th WR? He may be tough but you can almost see him being carted off the field on a stretcher once a NFL safety nails him.
