Major Update!!!Long to Rams, Ryan toFalcons, not Dorsey
The top half of the draft is starting to take shape
The St. Louis Rams will select Virginia defensive end Chris Long with the second pick of the draft if they are not blown away by a trade offer, team sources told FOXSports.com. Also, Falcons sources said that they will select Boston College quarterback Matt Ryan in the No. 3 spot. Injury concerns with Glenn Dorsey turned Atlanta away from the LSU defensive tackle. It appears the top three picks are locked in, provided no trades occur. Several teams, though, are looking to make deals. FOXSports.com has also learned the New Orleans Saints have been in talks with the Raiders and Chiefs among others to trade up in an effort to land Dorsey. They are not offering a player, only draft picks to make the move. The Jets, who had Chris Long as their top-rated player, now have their sights on Darren McFadden, if he's still on the board at No. 6. And the Chiefs, who also had Chris Long as their selection, are now looking to move out of the No. 5 spot. Long to Rams, Ryan to Falcons |

This is where Jammal Brown can come into play. Trade up with the Raiders at #4 as long as this scenario holds up. Brown could be what pushes this trade over the edge, because of the Raiders desperate need for an offensive line. Then they can use #10 to pick up a Rivers, McKelvin, or Clady. If I were giving up Brown and the #10 for the #4, I would want the Raiders to throw in a 3rd or 4th rounder, as well.

Im hearing Oakland will want our 1st and third for there pick. Leaving us the 2nd for a Shockey trade but then we wouldnt pick again till the fourth but we would get Dorsey and Shockey. I say go for it! Well unless you consider both have injury issues.

look we give up 1 and 2 to get to Oakland. thats even 1800 pts so we have to kick in a little something.
Now KC we are 100 pts over so maybe swapping thirds. 66 for 78. I can live with it. If brown comes into the picture then we are talking a different game. Brown, IMO, is worth more than a 2nd if shockey is worth a 2 an additional pick. Oakland would need to kick in a low round pick. 5th? 6th? KC I would say would have to throw in a 3rd? lower one probably. I would rather swapping picks and keeping Brown. |
