Re: on the board in 9 picks, who do we take?
Weird...Saints just moved up two spots before their pick. Ahead of Cincy again.
Re: on the board in 9 picks, who do we take?
here we go
Saints move up to 144 from 146 in the 5th
and take Demario Pressley, DT
Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
Great pick! This kid has a ton of talent and upside and IMO is worthy of a fifth round selection. We moved up to get ahead of the Bengals, who probably would have taken him.
Re: Saints move up to 144 from 146 in the 5th
finally, a trade..............
Re: Saints move up to 144 from 146 in the 5th
WTF.. what did we lose now.. come on.. i mean yeah thats a great DT selection but we were about to pick any ways..
Re: Saints move up to 144 from 146 in the 5th
Had to have info that Cincy was going to take him. That's twice now that the Saints have "screwed" Cincy on taking a DT.
Re: on the board in 9 picks, who do we take?
damnit, what did we just give up?
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
Awesome pick didnt even know he was still on the board I like it.
Re: Saints move up to 144 from 146 in the 5th
well thats true. cincy needs DT. i just hate losing picks.. what were the trade terms
Re: on the board in 9 picks, who do we take?
DeMario Pressley, North Carolina St., 6031, 301, 5.14
Pressley is the last left of the NCS defensive front that featured Mario Williams, Manny Lawson, John McCargo and Tank Tyler. He is an interesting player. His size and bulk are excellent. His upper body development is impressive, with a wide back, broad shoulders, long reach and large hands. Excellent athleticism, good speed and quickness. Does a nice job in pursuit and has a burst to close and does a good job of shedding blocks. Can penetrate and wreak havoc in the backfield. Explosive off the ball with a great first step. Hard worker who takes to tough coaching and proved last year that he was willing to play through pain. More of a three-tech lineman who might fit better as a 3-4 defensive end, as he has the initial step and angle ability to cause havoc when given a free lane He is slow to make his reads and lacks the lower body strength to stack and control at the line of scrimmage. A rash of recent injury issues that will need further medical evaluation. Ok I have to give this kid a flyer on a year of coaching and a badge of honor for toughness. He dealt with wrist, toe and knee injuries the past couple of years. He is listed as a bit of an underachiever but an interesting prospect. That makes me really wonder about these reviews. 2006: Suffered a left big toe fracture in March camp … dislocated his left wrist vs. North Carolina (11/18), undergoing surgery that day to have pins placed in his hand. 2007: Again broke his big toes in March drills. Suffered a left elbow injury that resulted in three ligament tears during State's second scrimmage in August camp. Pressley still started State's season opener against Central Florida. Pressley later had some torn meniscus tissue during practice. Missed two games and was back on the field. Guts alone is reason enough to consider drafting this man |

Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
yeah apparently bc they cincy still went DT.
Re: Saints move up to 144 from 146 in the 5th
Cincy still got a DT.
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
Thats twice we screwed the Bungles. Hahahaha
Re: Saints move up to 144 from 146 in the 5th
dang we had to of given up the rest of our picks to trade up.. so we got to select 3 total players? quality not quantity right? but this DT we took has been plagued with injury issues?..
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
anyone know what we gave up?
Re: Saints move up to 144 from 146 in the 5th
cincy drafted a DT with serious off field issues.. just the way they like their players.
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
Nothing but upside in this pick. Yeah the Bengals are getting robbed. That's 2 from their D-line we snagged. Ha
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
I would guess we gave up a seventh rounder this year or next year. I would hate to think we gave up anymore than that.
Re: on the board in 9 picks, who do we take?
we didn't get rid of the rest of our picks =/. the difference in 146 and 144 is 1 point on the old draft chart rofl, we gave away our 7th probably.
Re: on the board in 9 picks, who do we take?
ESPN's draft cast still has us with a 5th and a 6th. Means that we gave up our 7th rounder.
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
This year's 7
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
I dont understand this pick; unless they are sending signals they will release or trade Hollis Thomas. It make sense to trade/ release to sign Will Smith; if I was th bengals I will be ready to pounce on Hollis
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
I'm not too thrilled about another DT. Looking for a fresh new LB. But, at least it was on the D.
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
You know my pain - another draft going by, no LB. But, they say that a LB's best friend is a sturdy DT stuffing the middle
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
He had a third/fourth rd grade, so it was a good value pick.
Re: Saints trade up for DeMario Pressley
Letsget Jonathan Goff with out next pick
