this definitely was the icing on the cake for this draft.

now problem is:
I'll take a crack at it:

colston,
Keep. Duh.
meachem,
I'm not down on the guy like many others. I really think the Saints planned to redshirt him when they picked him. They knew of his medical issues. He's healthy now and the coaching staff has been really happy with his progress. Can anyone find me a quote from a pundit anywhere from last year that says that Meachum isn't a first round receiving talent? He's going to be a significant cog in this offense for years to come.
patten,
Stopgap. He'll be here for this year. But with the young talent developing behind him, 2008 may be his last year with the Saints.
henderson,
Simple: produce or be gone. Still stretches the field like no other receiver we have. However, the drops drives everyone nuts.
arrington,
Tough problem. Has to pass waivers to get to the practice squad. May be too raw to carry on the 53 man roster. The kid needs a special teams assignment until he's ready to play receiver.
copper,
Old reliable. Great ST player. Will stick around.
skylar green,
Bye-bye. Not a good enough receiver. Porter will be the punt returner. No place for Skylar. Sorry we barely knew you.
lance moore
I think it may be the end of the road for Lance. He's somewhere between copper and green. He won't be the punt returner and probably isn't good enough to be the 4th receiver (unless henderson falls off). He's definitely the bubble guy here.

Super Bowl Championships: New Orleans Saints:1, Carolina:0, Atlanta Chokers: STILL ZERO

Only Atlanta choked in an unchokable situation... Life is definitely good.

Colston - not a problem
Patten - not a problem
Meachem - not a problem this camp
The rest - earn your spot.

To clear up your misconception, we don't have a possible #2 going to the Jets next year. If he reaches certain benchmarks, like playing time and if we re-sign him, we give them a #3, but get a #4 back to replace the #4 we gave them this year.

And, there are always opportunities to trade for picks. We chose to be aggressive and trade up three times this year, costing us picks to move. Other years, we may move back and obtain more picks. It's not the picks as much as what you do with them.

If I'm not mistaken, AA would have been a top rated WR next year. He chose to come out after the coaching change. I might be mistaken, but I seem to remember reading that he would've be a 1st-2nd rounder.
Anyway, I thought Rhema McKnight would've done well last year, but look what happened. I can't wait till TC gets here!
