texans take a swipe at reggie......

this is a discussion within the Saints Community Forum; I don't buy this "he gets his yards up the middle" stuff either. Prove it. Show me a stat that says his yards per carry are higher up the middle than they are with offtackle or screen passes. Prove it. ...

Reggie gets his yards by eluding tacklers - not by running over them.

i hate doing this but im dismissing just about everything ricky says as false....i wish reggie would bulk up a little just to get some meat on his bones...i like the way he runs and i wouldnt want him to get too heavy...nobody wants him to be a jerome bettis but i think its too much to ask of him to be an up the middle guy....the only thing he needs to work on is dropping the ball....he can get a yard or two just cuz he's reggie but ball possession is vital

Re: texans take a swipe at reggie......

Reading this board si starting to remind me of an episode of Jerry Springer.

IMHO, Reggie's success, or lack thereof, seems to be hinged on several things:

1) Failure to wait for blocking to develop
2) Rushing E-W instead of looking for N-S yardage
3) Bad/ Cute/ Predictable play calling (ie. screen or pass into the flats which EVERY CB in the NFL is looking for now)
4) Lack of vision and seeing the WHOLE field (ie. Westbrook) when he's running

Alter any or all of these things and you just might see Bush blow it up this year.

A wise man once said, "Poo-poo smells just as bad as s#!%. One just SOUNDS cuter!"

In other words Reggie is playing too fast and needs to slow down.
