The Steal of free agents........

"Evan Moore – Wide Receiver, Stanford (6-7, 236): A one-time two-sport star for the Cardinal, having also played basketball at Stanford in his first two years on campus, Moore signs with the Saints and becomes the tallest wideout on the roster. He finished his collegiate career with 103 catches for 1,555 yards and 12 touchdowns, playing in 38 games over five seasons (he was granted a medical redshirt after suffering a season-ending dislocated hip in the opener of his original junior season of 2005)." I cant wait to see how he is going to be hes tall and Big i think he could be a real steal. what do yall think

Nothing in life worth having comes easy

Send him for a few meals at Mothers & once he gains the weight, we can make him a tight end.

Evan Moore, Stanford, 6-7, 236, 4.77
POSITIVES: Large, tough college receiver who projects to tight end in the NFL. Displays strong hands, makes the difficult reception in contorted positions, and snatches the ball from the air. Physically beats down defenders and makes the tough catch in a crowd. Sells routes, comes back to the ball, and looks the pass into his hands. Willing and effective blocker downfield.

NEGATIVES: Overall game lacks quickness and speed. Shows marginal sharpness running routes.

ANALYSIS: Moore has been a productive and dominant pass-catcher when healthy. He does not possess the speed to play receiver at the next level, yet he has the size, strength, and mentality to move inside to tight end.

I think this is what the saints are thinking about too. The the signing of

Todd Blythe, Iowa St., 6-5, 214, 4.69
POSITIVES: Reliable pass-catcher with marginal quickness and speed. Comes back to the ball out of breaks and uses his frame to protect the pass. Gets vertical and out-jumps defenders for the high ball. Nicely adjusts to the errant throw, plays with good body control, and extends to make the reception away from his frame. Gives effort and gets results as a blocker.

NEGATIVES: Not quick releasing off the line, shows almost no burst, and a one-speed wideout.

ANALYSIS: Blythe is a competitive and hard-working prospect who could find a home as a possession receiver in the NFL.

also maybe a sign. Tough over the middle types. Think Dallas Clark types here. stand up TEs

If the guy is a good leaper he could be a terror in the red zone and at blocking FGs.

Re: The Steal of free agents........

Good players to add and as hagan said would certainly be red zone terrors, which is an area that our offense hasnt been greatly efficient at in the past. I like the competition at wideout this season. Many players will have to earn their spot on the roster based on their performance. I like Blythe. When he had any sort of consistent QB play, he was making plays for the Cyclones.

I really like the "physically beats down defenders & makes the tough catch in a crowd" comment. Okay....I think I like the kid.

Re: The Steal of free agents........

gotta agree with Euph here

Payton's trying to assemble a freaky-scary endzone attack.
