Pressley looks pretty good in this video. I must admit - I'm impressed.

If he works out, this was a great draft. Will see.

Re: Videos of Ellis, Nicks, Porter, & Pressley
ah i liked the video of adrian arrington....he uses his hands....he can separate and runs good routes....he lays out to catch passes...i didnt get to see many michigan games this year....i didnt like one of the nicks videos i watched off that link tho....its supposed to be a highlight film and it is...but on more than one of his highlights after he blows the guy off the ball...he stops and his man makes the tackle....its great to have the strength to push someone like that..but he did not finish and his guy ended up tackling the RB

Re: Videos of Ellis, Nicks, Porter, & Pressley
Agreed, Nicks didn't wow me in that video either. Porter did, Arrington did, but Nicks didn't.
But I can see now what all this hoopla about Pressley is for. He's impressive. I live up here in Raleigh now (since the storm), and a lot of guys up here have been asking me questions about Pressley going to the Saints. Seems he's got quite the little fan club up here. And now I can see why. |

Re: Videos of Ellis, Nicks, Porter, & Pressley
If you watch highlights of Ellis and Dorsey, there are times when they flat knock down the OL and make the play. This is what Pressley didn't do.
I concur that Pressley looked pretty good, but compared to the two elite DTs from this year's draft, you can really see the difference. He seems to have a good nose for the ball, which is something to really like. I have a good feeling about him. I feel like we were watching different videos of Nicks. Nicks looked pretty good to me in the clip linked above. I didn't see his guy make a tackle on the ballcarrier. He did play both RT and LT, so maybe I couldn't tell which T he was? The highlights have him mostly passblocking, but as I recall he is known for his run blocking, no? The Arrington clip was pretty impressive too, except maybe that catch where he is wide open and he has to pin the ball to his back to make the catch... ugh. How about you catch the ball and THEN worry about looking awesome!? |

Re: Videos of Ellis, Nicks, Porter, & Pressley
I am with you JKool. I felt the opposite about Pressley and Nicks. Although neither impressed me, Nicks did look good, and if you check the Senior Bowl practice he man handles Ellis. Pressley on the other hand didn't look like he got penetration, but with that said these two were day two picks, and for that I am fine with not being OVERLY impressed. I have to go with everyone else when I say that we got the steal with the overshadowed Arrington. Can he catch or what?

Re: Videos of Ellis, Nicks, Porter, & Pressley
Whew. Thanks 12. I was starting to think I was losin' it a little.
Arrington did look pretty good. Of course, WRs to have some of the longest learning curves in the NFL. So, it is hard for me to get too excited about WRs; it just takes them a couple of years to hit their stride. Of course, thanks to Colston, it is obvious that there are some who can come in and make an impact right away. It is just that such cases are quite rare. I'll keep my fingers crossed that Arrington is all that. |
