Both Nebraska offensive lineman Carl Nicks and Michigan receiver Adrian Arrington have shown signs of why many NFL scouts had them projected as high draft picks before character issues dropped them in the draft. "I'm trying to prove that I can make plays for this team," Arrington said Saturday. "I'm just trying to do what they asked me to do. "Everybody is on the same playing field. That's one of the things the coaches tried to instill in our first team meeting. It doesn't matter if you're a dafted player or a signed free agent, everybody is competing for a job." Saints coach Sean Payton has been very clear about not caring whether a player was drafted in the first round or if he came off the street for an open-tryout. If they can help the team, they've got a shot. |
