Vilma on WWL

HEBERT: seems that you're moving well. you talked with payton and agreed to hold back?
VILMA: taking our time is best. no game sunday, not getting ready for playoffs. best for myself, best for the team to work myself back progressively to avoid setbacks.
HEBERT: when you first came into the league (2004-05) took the league by storm... what it's gonna take to get back to that outstanding level of play, just to stay healthy you tink?
VILMA: staying healthy is the biggest thing, have to learn a new scheme/new system, once i adjust, hopefully plays will come, i'll make the plays that come to me.
HEBERT: you view yourself as the qb/leader on d?
VILMA: definitely, at MLB. i make the calls/checks, that comes naturally. not here to step on toes (grant/smith), just taking on the qb role, making sure we're the best we can be.
DEKE I THINK: lbs go hand/hand with the DT. d line and lb need to work together. they seem to look good.
VILMA: very impressed with athleticism/attention to detail. ellis fit right in. watching them work, it's going to be a good combo for both of us.
HEBERT: do you want opportunity to rush QB instead of dropping into coverage?
VILMA: don't care, honestly. whatever the gameplan calls for, that's fine whether it's rushing the qb or dropping back in coverage and getting a pick

Good news that he was impressed with the DT's, i.e. the athleticism and attention to detail. THAT was a surprise.

Chances are he was referring to Ellis.
That is a nice warm fuzzy feeling.

Well, a guy like Hollis Thomas is very athletic, for a guy his SIZE. There's not a whole lot of 340lbs guys who can move like him.

You know Joesam is up there loving this, being the old LB that he was.
