New Orleans Saints' official injury report for Sunday's game at Buffalo
By Mike Triplett, The Times-Picayune September 25, 2009, 12:56PM There were no surprises on the Saints' official injury report Friday. Tailback Mike Bell (knee), receiver Lance Moore (hamstring) and defensive tackle Kendrick Clancy (knee) were listed as out, along with offensive tackle Jammal Brown (hip) and tight end Darnell Dinkins (foot). Linebacker Jo-Lonn Dunbar (hamstring) is listed as questionable. And seven players are listed as probable -- quarterback Drew Brees (left, non-throwing shoulder), defensive end Charles Grant (hamstring), defensive end Bobby McCray (back), safety Roman Harper (hamstring), offensive tackle Jermon Bushrod (knee), tight end Jeremy Shockey (ankle) and tailback Pierre Thomas (knee). When asked if first-year pro Lynell Hamilton will take over Bell's role in the offense, Saints Coach Sean Payton said, "I don't think that's accurate." But he was evasive when asked specifically how the touches will be divided between Hamilton, Thomas and Reggie Bush. "Pierre's getting close, if not real close to 100 percent," Payton said of Thomas, who returned last week from his own knee injury but played sparingly at Philadelphia. Payton also refused to reveal the Saints' plan for replacing Lance Moore. But he did point out that first-year pro Rod Harper is an option on the active roster. Chances are, Harper will be activated, both as an emergency fifth receiver and a backup punt returner behind Bush.
