Looks like this may be true. It is starting to pop up around the Internet. I would have to believe either someone tried to claim him or someone is headed to IR, or maybe both.

May have located the real reason:

RT Adam_SchefterPart 2: Normally WR Lance Moore is third QB but he has strained hamstring, won't play, and Saints HC Sean Payton preparing - just in case.

I didn't even know that Daniel was picked up by the Saints until a couple of days ago. New Payton project. I'm interested in this kid.
